Okay, so by now we hope you’ve got a better understanding about Botox and what it does and what it doesn’t do. Today, we’ll go further and explore two more myths.

Myth #5
Everyone can tell that you’ve had Botox done because it’s obvious.

The goal of the procedure is to make you look tighter and youthful, without the obvious appearance of having work done. If you’ve got the right doctor, who knows exactly what he’s doing, there shouldn’t be any reason to notice having the procedure done.

Myth #6
Botox is absolutely toxic and poisonous for your health.

Absolutely untrue. Botox is a purified form of botulinum toxin, a form of food poisoning. The botulinum toxin lives in poorly preserved foods, including canned meats. The safety of Botox is ensured by its pinpoint administration into a certain muscle or a group of muscles. Because the dosage of the toxin is very low, a Botox injection is simply incapable of spreading its effects outside of the area. It is also approved and certified by the FDA for public usage. Botox has been used since 1987 with over 2.9 million procedures performed annually, and virtually no long-term side effects.
